mainly music is an organisation started in New Zealand by Jo Hood in the 1990s, which has now expanded across Australia, NZ and the world. mainly music provides a framework for fun group sessions tailored for children 0-4 years old and their caregivers. Each session includes approximately half an hour of action songs, dancing, singing and lots of interaction between parent and child. The music sessions are specifically designed to develop gross and fine motor skills, language, imagination and pre-reading skills, as well as offering opportunity to socialise with other children.

Incorporated into mainly music is an eat/play/chat time, where everyone can enjoy morning tea, children can play with toys and each other, and adults can enjoy a chat with other parents and caregivers. mainly music aims to develop the relationship between children and their parents, as well as giving families a chance to think about the ‘God-part’ of life.

Ginninderra Christian Church holds mainly music sessions every Tuesday morning at 10 am, staffed by GCC volunteers and coordinated by Anneke McAuliffe. There is a small cost involved in attending sessions ($5 per family per session) and due to limited places and the wide popularity of the program, there is frequently a waiting list. If you and your child are interested in attending mainly music please click here to contact us.

COVID-19 Status

Updated 12 January 2021

We are currently conducting worship services under the ACT Government’s one-person-per-2-square-metre rule, which generally allows the whole congregation to participate in the main auditorium. A condition of entry is that members and visitors log their attendance using the ‘Check in CBR’ app or manually on our sign-in sheet. Restrictions remain around food service and seating distancing, but we welcome all who wish to attend. Mens and ladies fellowships, youth and young adults are back to standard meeting times, but unfortunately seniors morning tea and mainly music have been indefinitely suspended.

We encourage you to continue connecting with one another as much as possible outside of church as members of the Body of Christ. For more information or assistance at any time please phone the church office on 02 6223 2746.
